When Meijer needed a ‘fresh idea’ they called on Hallett. When a major department store needs to re-carpet, they can’t close the doors to patrons and they can’t have any down time. Hallett was engaged to work in the wee hours of the morning to shift store racks and displays during the recent re-carpeting project at the Rolling Meadows store.
For Hallett’s veteran movers, Jim Shanahan and Marty Pedraza, this was just another opportunity to flex their creative muscle. With some extra hardware and inspired problem solving, they were able to extend the use of our range/rack moving equipment to accommodate the retailer’s varied racking system. By doing so, they easily and swiftly were able to relocate the display racks in advance of the carpeting staff and then return them after new carpet was installed. In just four nights they were able to relocate and reset approximately 1/3 of the stores display area.
