Hallett Movers continues to monitor the news concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We are complying with the latest available medical advice and related requirements specified by the state of Illinois. We are a family company, and the health and wellbeing of our families and each of your families is of foremost importance. As always, we are also committed to providing exceptional service to our clients, and we have implemented new policies and procedures that allow us to carry on with many move projects as safely as possible.

Hallett has instituted the following practices in-line with guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
- During moves, on-site staff wear masks and maintain physical distance of at least six feet whenever possible. We supply hand sanitizer and promote frequent hand washing. The moving teams traditionally wear work gloves to protect their hands when handling boxes, equipment and furniture.
- In the office and warehouse, we routinely clean all equipment and commonly handled surfaces. Similarly, we clean our trucks and the equipment that goes out on moves.
- We updated many of our paperwork processes to be electronic even before the pandemic, and now those on-line contracts and billing procedures translate to safer transactions.
- Many office staff now work remotely, and our moving crews and warehouse staff are scheduled to allow for minimum contact/maximum physical distance. When staff are in the office, we wear masks and maintain distance wherever possible. Dispatchers also wear masks when dispatching.
- Most importantly, we require our staff to stay home if they feel sick or have possibly been exposed to the virus.
We also vet move sites for potential outbreaks and coordinating safety measures. Our project managers will work with a client’s project manager to ensure we all agree on the proper measures to minimize risk of virus transmission on a job.
If you have a project with us already in process and have any questions or would like to discuss how the virus could potentially impact your moving plans, then please reach out to your Hallett project manager.
